A free experience with knowledgeable staff. Friendly and welco ingredients and amazing to get a glimpse of the moon and Venus through the telescope. All donations go towards the upkeep of the observatory. A great event for anyone mesmerised by our galaxy

A magickal gem atop a hill in Dundee! Free access if you book online or by phone but I think it is wonderful to make a donation. We were fortunate enough to see Jupiter and four of its moons. Also it was a lovely, clear night to see the Supermoon. Amazing people running and volunteering here.

Absolutely amazing to see the original telescope,(didn't get to use it unfortunately) we were shown Jupiter and it's moons which was fantastic, an exceptional view of the moon. Beautiful experience for the family and I. Was disappointed to learn that Dundee council do not take full advantage of this place for learning with the local schools. I would have killed to be able to visit this place when a kid at school. Hopefully it gets the visitors it deserves.

The Mills Observatory is a magical, nostalgic, and educational experience. It wonderfully preserves a piece of 1930s scientific history while remaining completely accessible to the modern public. Whether you are a space enthusiast, looking for a unique date night, or wanting to spark a love for science in your kids, it is absolutely worth the trip up Balgay Hill. Just make sure to check their seasonal schedule online and pray for clear Scottish skies before you go!
