About The Longforgan Coaching Inn

Steak pie and a full Scottish breakfast are the things people remember most about The Longforgan Coaching Inn, a straightforward hotel on Main St in Dundee. The on-site restaurant does traditional, filling food, and there's a bar nearby too for those after a pint after a day out. Staff are consistently described as helpful, and the whole place is generally felt to offer solid value for money.

Rooms are comfortable with large beds, though some are on the basic and dated side rather than newly refurbished, so this suits guests after good food and a decent night's sleep over polished decor. Facilities include free WiFi, drinks available in the room, luggage storage and 24 hour reception, along with a garden for sitting out. Free on-site parking is provided, which makes it an easy stop for those arriving by car.

The inn is well placed for golf and fishing nearby, and Elcho Castle offers a point of interest for those wanting to explore beyond Dundee itself. Invergowrie lies a few miles away for anyone after a short trip out of the city.

For under 50 pounds a night, this is a 5-star stay. Very kind and friendly proprietors. Large beds, heat, hot water, and an attractive courtyard setting, all in a quiet village of friendly people, just outside Dundee. It's what we in the US would call a basic, mom-and-pop run motel. Yes, the rooms were a little dingy and stained, and the beds were half comfortable and half uncomfortable, but for the price you wouldn't expect near this much. I understand the food's delicious, but we didn't have any.

Staff were excellent, super friendly. The room itself however were okay. There was a fair amount of dust in the room, the bathroom floor seemed to be giving away under the bath and the mattress, whilst big, would benefit from something laid across the middle to cover the edge of the 2 mattresses pushed together. The place was pet friendly and again the staff were super friendly

Needed to stay in an emergency when my partner was in Ninewells and the place was ideal as it was dog frindly. Owners were so helpful and accommodating and the breakfast was lovely. Great wee place. Would stay again.

Rooms were basic and could do with a refurb. No mat in shower my friend slipped and broke a rib. Never slept in a bed as uncomfortable. Nice pub and food not bad for money. Breakfast was a bit overpriced. Will be in no rush to go back
