Durham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Meadow Lane, Durham DH1 1TL, UK

Well-kept touring site at Belmont, a short drive from Durham city centre

About Durham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Durham Grange sits on open, level ground at Belmont, just off the A1(M) on Durham's eastern edge. The 74 pitches—most with hardstanding and electric hook-up—are sheltered from motorway noise, and the heated central facilities block is modern and well-maintained, with free hot showers, private cubicles, a family shower room, laundry and accessible unit. A small shop stocks essentials and can order bread and newspapers; there's also a children's play park, motorhome service point and dedicated dog walk.

Durham's cathedral and castle are only three miles away, though you'll need a car to reach them—there's no direct footpath or regular bus service from the site. A limited number of pitches accept tents alongside touring caravans and motorhomes. Some visitors note that amenities can feel a little basic for the price, but the location and easy motorway access make it a convenient, family-friendly base for exploring the North East.

Great location by the A1M, yes you hear the traffic in the distance but that didn't bother us. Excellent shower/washing facilities. 20 minutes from the coast. 10 minutes by car to the train station. Literally 5 minutes in the car from the park & ride. It is walkable but you have to cross the A1M slip roads. Food van calls on Saturday evening.
