Harrison House

Harrison House spreads across three floors with a straightforward layout that works well for families or groups. Ground level holds the living room and an open-plan kitchen-diner, where a full-sized cooker, dishwasher and washing machine handle the practicalities of a longer stay. A separate toilet is tucked downstairs too. The first floor has two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with singles—and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Up again to the second floor sits a third bedroom with a double bed and its own ensuite shower, tucked under the eaves with vaulted ceilings and a Velux window for light.

An enclosed lawn opens from the back, laid out with a patio and garden furniture for sitting out. There is parking on site. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; one pet stays free. Low Pittington, where the house stands, is five miles south of Durham city centre and close enough to the A1 and A19 for onward travel through the north. A farm shop with a coffee counter sits within walking distance. Countryside walks lead from the door, and Ramside Hall Golf and Spa lies just beyond the golf links. Durham Castle and Cathedral, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, are twenty minutes away by car, as is the Gala Theatre if you want an evening out. The property is non-smoking throughout.
