Barn Owl Cottage

Durham city is close enough for a day out, while the surrounding countryside of County Durham offers quiet walks and village exploration from your door. Barn Owl Cottage sits on a 20-acre estate of restored farm buildings converted into five holiday cottages, with direct access to the grounds and countryside beyond.

The cottage spreads across two floors. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining space with a wood-effect fire and smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen, and a double bedroom with shower room. Upstairs, a second double bedroom is the standout feature—a freestanding slipper bath sits beside the bed, with an en-suite toilet alongside. Both bedrooms have television. Essentials including Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered. The kitchen has everything for self-catering: hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine.

Your own private hot tub is in an indoor spa suite attached to the cottage. The estate also has a shared sauna and ice bath if you want to use them, plus a front garden with seating and barbecue. Parking is for two cars. One dog is welcome. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
