Durham's attractions and the wider North East are within reach, but Wagtail Cottage sits far enough out to offer genuine quietness. The property occupies converted farm buildings on a twenty-acre site near Rowley Baptist Church, restored from 1600s stone structures that once stored hay and dairy equipment. You get the whole place to yourself, with private parking for two cars and access to shared leisure facilities including a sauna and ice bath alongside your own hot tub.
Everything is on the ground floor: a combined living and dining space with a wood-effect fire and smart TV, a kitchen fitted for proper cooking (induction hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine), two double bedrooms, and a shower room with a walk-in enclosure. An indoor spa suite opens from the living area, housing your private four-person hot tub. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. One small dog is welcome, and a travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
The cottage suits couples, families or friends wanting to unwind but not be isolated. The twenty acres provide space to breathe; nearby you'll find Durham city, woodland walks and the broader attractions of County Durham. No smoking inside.
