This substantial farmhouse dates back generations and occupies 11 acres of open Pennine countryside near Durham. Eight bedrooms accommodate up to 18 guests, with five offering en-suite bathrooms and the rest served by shared facilities. The main suite features a super king bed and its own balcony overlooking the land. Bed linen and towels are supplied, along with wifi and electricity; the essentials are covered so you can focus on your stay.
The interior spreads across generous living areas designed for groups to gather without feeling cramped. The kitchen and dining space handles large meals easily. Two sitting rooms offer contrasting atmospheres—one with open fires for traditional comfort, the other a more relaxed setting. A games room and bar area occupy a dedicated entertainment wing, while a separate cinema room suits quiet evenings after days out. Outside, terraces and a hot tub make use of the peaceful setting and far-reaching views.
The location sits within a Dark Skies Discovery Site, making for exceptional stargazing on clear nights. The Pennine Way is directly accessible for walkers, and the surrounding landscape appeals equally to cyclists, photographers and wildlife watchers. Stanhope and traditional villages with local pubs lie nearby. One pet is welcome. No smoking throughout. On-site parking is available, and you arrive after 4pm, departing by 10am.
