Colliery Cottage

Cornsay Colliery is a quiet village setting with the Royal Oak Inn nearby, and Durham's cathedral and university are within easy reach. The Northumberland coast lies under an hour away, while Newcastle and Sunderland—both with theatres, restaurants and shopping—are accessible for day trips. Steeley Hill Woods border the property, with countryside spreading across the surrounding landscape.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed overlooking fields, the other with twin beds (can be arranged as a kingsize on request). Downstairs, the living room faces the woods, a separate dining room holds a wood burner, and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The bathroom combines a P-shaped bath with shower over. An enclosed lawned garden at the rear has furniture for sitting out. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included, along with wi-fi and initial logs for the burner. One well-behaved pet can stay free. The property is non-smoking.
