This first-floor apartment sits on the ground floor of a converted cottage, set back from the village with immediate access to woodland walks and the River Tees nearby. The space is arranged on one level with an open-plan living area that includes a kitchen, dining space and sitting room, two bedrooms each with a pair of single beds, and a shower room. One dog travels free; there is parking on site and a bike store for exploring the surrounding countryside.
Everything needed for a short break is provided: bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are all included. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with a cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. You have use of the owner's washing machine and tumble dryer, and a patio with seating overlooks the shared grounds. The village shop and pub are less than half a mile away. Smoking is not permitted inside.
The Northern Dales offer plenty to explore on foot or by car: Raby Castle, the Bowes Museum, Hamsterley Forest with its nature trails, and High Force waterfall are all within reach. The market town of Barnard Castle is a short drive, with antique shops and cafés, while Beamish Museum and Durham itself are thirty minutes away.
