The Stables is a recently completed conversion near Stanhope in the Durham Dales, built to luxury standards with wheelchair access and step-free entry from the car park. The whole property is on one level, arranged around a spacious open-plan living area with full-height windows framing views across rolling countryside. A corner leather sofa and suspended egg chair face a smart TV, while the kitchen runs into a dining space with a full range of appliances for self-catering. There's also a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a boot room for muddy arrivals.
Three bedrooms sleep eight: two with zip-and-link super-king beds that can split into singles, one with a double bunk and single bed. Two bathrooms include walk-in showers and heated towel rails, plus a separate toilet. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included. A hot tub sits in the private grounds for up to four people, alongside a patio, courtyard and garden seating areas; there's also a children's play area. One well-behaved pet stays free. The property has electric car charging and parking for six vehicles.
The grounds are extensive but include some steps; guests should note the property draws water from a private spring, with a raised fountain feature within the grounds. No smoking is permitted.
