What visitors say

Steve

We took a trip out to Calderglen Country Park and Zoo and it was well worth it, there is plenty of free parking but may get busy at weekends and holidays as the golf club use it as well. There is also an excellent cafe there with a nice court yard to sit in and have a coffee and cake. You can walk down to the river, it is quite steep with some interesting steps to but worth it. You would not know you were close to a town when you walk along the paths enclosed with all the trees. We also visited the Zoo and gardens, it is a small fee to enter but you can see the upkeep is excellent. You pass through the tropical plant area first, which is interesting to see them up close then onto the gardens and Zoo outside. You can see straight away how well the gardens are kept, the Yew tree especially is worth seeing as it could have started to grow there when Vikings were invading in the north or the Battle of Hastings was happening in the south. The small Zoo is excellent for children with explanations about all the animals and you can see well kept. The park is great just for a quick stop or a good wander around, we will be making more visits. Steve and Jenny.

First time visiting today. Great park. Close to car park. Cafe, zoo, park, inflatables, woods. The kids loved it. Would definitely recommend.

Always a little family favourite. Very well maintained and gorgeous little gardens. Great price for admission. On a lovely weather day it would be good to take a small picnic.

Lovely park, cheap entry to the zoo, grounds and enclosures are well kept, good selection of animals to see, good size playground for younger kids and beautiful waterfall and river walk along the bank. Also have a café near the gift shop serves hot and cold refreshments. Good place to stop and enjoy.
