About Strathclyde Country Park Club Campsite
Strathclyde Country Park spreads across roughly a thousand acres of the Clyde Valley between Motherwell and Hamilton, and this Caravan and Motorhome Club site sits inside it, close to the shore of Strathclyde Loch. Pitches are level and well drained, with hardstandings and electric hookups across most of the site, and the heated amenity block covers showers, washing-up and laundry. Dogs are welcome, Wi-fi is available, and there's a small shop at reception for essentials.
The real draw is what surrounds it: the loch hosts rowing and watersports with a path all the way round, there are woodland trails, wetland bird hides and the excavated remains of a Roman bathhouse, and M&D's amusement park sits at the northern end for families. Glasgow is a twenty-minute drive or half an hour by train from nearby Motherwell station, New Lanark and the Falls of Clyde are around forty minutes south, and the Ayrshire coast is under an hour west. Standards are consistent and wardening attentive, though it books out early for bank holidays and summer weekends. Non-members can stay, though members pay less.

We brought our new Motorhome (7.5m) A Class for a stay of 3 nights. Good sized pitches, toilets and showers were really, really clean and the staff are really genuinely friendly, lovely people. Great walks for the dog around the lake, a wee walk through the woods on the trails for the adventurous guys will have you returning to your van feeling very relaxed. 😉 We had no issues with the bit of noise from the Motorway, it really isn’t that bad. All in all, a quality site, with lovely, helpful staff.

If you need a campsite just off the motorway, this is perfect. You can hear the motorway traffic. Across from the site there is a perfect off the lead walk for dogs, but I only knew his because of the reviews. Never actually saw a warden, it was a fast track process for getting onto the site, and you text your pitch number back, not a friendly approach imho. This is fine if you have been before, but if you haven’t then you are left wandering around the site trying to find what you need. Please note, there is only one facilities block open. So dont pitch up near the closed one if you near to be close to the loos! The facilities that are open, are spotless.

Great site, great stopping off point if heading northbound so close to the motorway network. We had a good visit into Glasgow caught the train ftom bellshill which had free parking at the station. Close to the loch and country park for water sports or jusy walking the dog.

Great stop over on the way south or north. Lovely well kept site in what is a pretty gritty area. Nice dog walks around the site and a bit of road noise during peak times, but a good site.
