Dunkeswell Abbey's ruins lie within reach of Apple Barrel Barn, a converted barn in the Blackdown Hills National Landscape that makes a solid base for exploring East Devon. The area offers walking routes through the hills, and the coast is drivable for a day out. The barn itself is your own space entirely—two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), a bathroom, and a shower room downstairs, plus a separate toilet. Downstairs is open-plan, with a kitchen equipped to cook properly, a living area with TV and DVDs, and a dining space.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden with seating, parking for one car, and a bike store. A separate outbuilding has a washing machine, freezer and toilet—useful for longer stays. One dog is welcome. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The property draws water from a spring. Arrive after 15:00, depart by 10:00. No smoking indoors.
