About Grey Willow Yurts
Grey Willow Yurts offers something genuinely different in the Blackdown Hills: a unique yurt-cabin hybrid that manages to feel both snug and spacious. Each structure comes with its own private bathroom — a rare luxury in the glamping world — and the off-grid setup (no WiFi, solar-powered) lends the place a proper escape-from-it-all atmosphere without sacrificing creature comforts like hot showers and fresh drinking water.
Dogs are welcome here, and families appreciate the relaxed, unhurried vibe. The site's intimate scale means it never feels crowded, and hosts clearly take pride in the details. It's tucked into quiet Devon countryside near Smeatharpe, making it a lovely base for walkers exploring the Blackdown Hills AONB or day trips further afield. The 4.9 Google rating reflects guests who value character and thoughtful hosting over bells and whistles.

What visitors say
Staying at this wooden cabin was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The cabin was beautifully designed—cozy, clean, and full of charm and offered all the comforts you could possibly need. It truly had everything: a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a bathroom, and even those little extras that make a stay special. The candles, the binoculars the fire!! The surrounding setting made it even better—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for unwinding with friends. Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway or a comfortable base to explore the area, this cabin ticks every box. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-appointed escape.

The yurts and the field space was absolutely perfect for our stay with dogs, the yurts were clean, comfortable and very well equipped, although we didn’t need or use it the log stove on a colder evening would have been excellent, The field was secure, and gave us confidence to allow the dogs off lead for the evening after some long walks through the surrounding countryside, Would definitely book and visit again

We booked all 3 Yurts for my partner’s surprise 50th Birthday celebrations. We found Grey Willow because we wanted somewhere near the airfield for a surprise parachute jump! We were a party of adults and without exception everyone loved the whole weekend. Natalie left us a bottle of bubbly and decorated the yurt with 50th banners and balloons. The log burners were all lit and it was so warm and welcoming. We had 4 dogs too and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves too! The Yurts are well kept and very cosy. The facilities are clean and they have thought of everything to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. We will definitely be going back 🤩

Just came back from a 2 night stay here with our 3 dogs and it was so lovely. The Yabin was cosy and well equipped, we loved the log fire inside to keep us warm. There are no electrics, so it gets very dark in the evenings but we lit tea lights and rather enjoyed it. The marshmallow toasting was the best and it was such a nice touch for the owners to leave marshmallows for us and enough wood for our fires. The field is big, the Yabins far enough away from each other so that you got privacy. Overall it was a wonderful stay, the owners were so friendly and it was a great little trip for us and our dogs. Thank you :)
