Ashington Holiday Cottages - Hawthorne Cottage
East Lindsey
View on Google MapsSkegness draws families to its beaches and amusement parks year-round, but Hawthorne Cottage offers a quieter base just outside town. This detached property sits behind the owner's home with countryside views, yet remains close enough for an easy visit to the seafront whenever you fancy it. The location strikes a balance—rural peace with seaside attractions within reach, plus good access to the Lincolnshire Wolds and market towns like Louth.
Inside, the cottage is compact and straightforward. One double bedroom, one bathroom, and an open-plan living space with a sofa bed give flexible sleeping for two. The kitchen has an electric cooker and full-size fridge; laundry is catered for with an on-site washing machine. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and WiFi come as standard. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
What sets it apart is the enclosed garden with private hot tub—a genuine highlight for a weekend away. Patio furniture and a barbecue are there too. Parking covers two cars, and a bike store makes exploring local cycle routes straightforward. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. No smoking inside. A shop and pub serving food are a mile away; Seacroft golf course is nearby for those interested, and fishing lakes dot the area.

Fantastic place for the peace and quiet. Well maintained enclosed garden and surrounding area. Interior has all that is needed for a relaxing holiday/break. The owners are both very welcoming and friendly. We came for the first time in November 2022 and when we got home we booked for 2 more holidays in 2023. Very good value for money Been again in 2024 with the Daughters and had a Fantastic week even the weather was kind. Peter and Maria are Fantastic Hosts and nothing is too much trouble, Looking forward to returning in 2025

If we could give more than 5 stars for this accommodation we certainly would. We came here with my parents who have been numerous times but this was our first time here, and WOW, the lodges had everything you could want and more for a very relaxing and peaceful break, and they are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Maria and Peter are very welcoming and helpful and they have set up the lodges so they really are a home from home. We loved that there is a nice secure area for our little pooch, Mollie to play in at the back of the lodge and she loved that Poppy (Maria & Peters pooch) came to visit us every day. We cannot recommend this accommodation enough. Thank you Maria & Peter, you both made our holiday one to remember and although we've only been home an hour, we are already excited and looking forward to returning in May 2025 x

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Oak Lodge. The accommodation was just right for the two of us and was spotlessly clean, Maria had thought of everything. The location, being slightly outside of Skegness and Ingoldmells was nice, quiet and relaxing, a good place to leave the world behind. There is not much in the way of local amenities so a car is a must, but Skegness and Ingoldmells are both around 10 mins away so not too far to travel. Would defiantly stay at Ashington cottages again in the future.

Absolutely brilliant our third stay here will definitely be back great accommodation very well planned out with everything you could want, the patio at the rear is superb, just the place to relax with a drink watching the rabbits and Deer after a hectic day. Maria and Pete the owners are so helpful and kind, not forgetting poppy the dog who came to see us every day, very peaceful area far enough outside Skegness to be away from the noise etc but close enough not to be a pain to get to, very highly recommended 5 ⭐️.
