Skegness beach is five miles away, and Burgh le Marsh with its shops and pubs sits two miles closer. The lodge occupies part of a 5-acre fishing complex where coarse angling happens year-round—day tickets cost £5, weekly passes £25—though the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside works equally well for walking and cycling. Horncastle, an hour's drive, is known for antique shops; the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight operates from Coningsby nearby; and Fantasy Island amusement park is at Ingoldmells. Lincoln Cathedral is about an hour away.
Bulrush Lodge is a detached two-bedroom, two-bathroom property with space for four guests. The ground floor comprises an open-plan living and dining room with Freeview television, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. One bedroom has a double bed with ensuite shower; the other has two single beds served by a family bathroom with bath and shower. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. A private hot tub on the decked veranda overlooks the lakes. You have a lawned garden with sitting areas, private parking for three cars, and access to a shared laundry room. One dog or cat can stay free of charge. The property is non-smoking. An unfenced lake lies 20 yards from the lodge.

Lodge was spotlessly clean on arrival and very well appointed. Even though the weather wasn't the best for our visit, it was still nice to just relax in the lodge.

On the day of our visit, the fishing wasn't that great. In my opinion, the sun killed it, numbers of F1s at first, but they seem to go off the feed as the day grew warmer. Larger carp didn't seem to be interested. Thats fishing! Well presented pegs make life easy for anglers of all abilities.
