Horncastle sits in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, surrounded by open countryside and linked to long-distance walking trails. Poachers Hideaway – The Tack Room is a self-contained annex on a working farm estate, where guests have the run of 156 acres of private grounds with fishing lakes and a nature reserve, plus direct access to the Heritage Bridleway and Viking Way for exploring further afield.

The single bedroom sleeps three: a double bed, a sofa bed in the open-plan living space, and room for a travel cot. Everything happens on the ground floor – a kitchen area with electric hob and microwave opens to the dining and sitting space, where you'll find a smart TV, games, books and local information. The shower room has a walk-in shower and separate toilet. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. You get private parking for one car and access to a secure bike store.

Coarse fishing in the on-site lakes is available to guests, and the grounds offer miles of marked walking routes. The pub is under a mile away. No smoking inside. Note that there are steps in the grounds and a lake 50 yards from the property.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, with breathtaking views. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in fabulous accommodation, wonderful walks and a stunning setting including fishing lake, then book at Poachers Hideaway. Owners are so welcoming, and are just genuinely lovely. We spent hours sitting overlooking the lake and drinking cocktails. Just perfect, and we haven't slept so well for ages. Short drive to Louth which is a very pretty Georgian market town, with lots of pubs and restaurants. You can also walk to the local pub through the fields.

We had an amazing stay at Poachers Hideaway. We booked the cottages for a family celebration. Angela and Andrew were very accommodating helping us to choose which cottages were the most suitable for our stay. All the cottages had their own character they were clean, well equipped and had large comfy beds. The grounds were beautifully kept with lots of grassy pathways to explore. We all enjoyed getting together again in such beautiful surroundings. Our party included children, adults, grandparents and dogs, everyone found plenty to do. Thank-you Angela and Andrew for making us most welcome.

My family has felt privileged to have really enjoyed four stays here last year. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. Everyone at Flintwood Farm was friendly, thoughtful and couldn’t have done more to ensure the quality of our stay not only met, but exceeded all expectations. The views over the fishing lakes were stunning, with wonderful pathways to exercise our family pet. A successful days fishing allowed my father to rekindle precious memories from his younger years. Celebrating three family birthdays here, staying in very well-presented and clean accommodation, with everything you could possibly need, has given my family many precious magical memories. Having recorded them on video has meant our family can revisit these moments again and again, and keep them for generations to come - irreplaceable! Thank you
