Viking Cottage comes with the essentials covered: electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included, so you arrive ready to settle in. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave for cooking proper meals. The bedroom holds a kingsize bed with space for a travel cot if needed, and there's a bathroom with bath and shower. The living room has a Freeview Smart TV and dining space, finished in oak panelling. One car can park on site, and one pet stays free.

The cottage sits on a 156-acre working farm near Horncastle, with direct access to the Viking Way long-distance footpath and miles of private farm walks. There's a designated area for exercising dogs, and coarse fishing is available on-site. Horncastle itself, 5 miles away, is known for antique and collectables shops. Louth is 9 miles in the other direction. Lincoln's cathedral and castle are a 30-minute drive. The grounds have steps and a lake 50 yards from the cottage, so do take care. No smoking inside. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, with breathtaking views. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in fabulous accommodation, wonderful walks and a stunning setting including fishing lake, then book at Poachers Hideaway. Owners are so welcoming, and are just genuinely lovely. We spent hours sitting overlooking the lake and drinking cocktails. Just perfect, and we haven't slept so well for ages. Short drive to Louth which is a very pretty Georgian market town, with lots of pubs and restaurants. You can also walk to the local pub through the fields.

We had an amazing stay at Poachers Hideaway. We booked the cottages for a family celebration. Angela and Andrew were very accommodating helping us to choose which cottages were the most suitable for our stay. All the cottages had their own character they were clean, well equipped and had large comfy beds. The grounds were beautifully kept with lots of grassy pathways to explore. We all enjoyed getting together again in such beautiful surroundings. Our party included children, adults, grandparents and dogs, everyone found plenty to do. Thank-you Angela and Andrew for making us most welcome.

My family has felt privileged to have really enjoyed four stays here last year. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. Everyone at Flintwood Farm was friendly, thoughtful and couldn’t have done more to ensure the quality of our stay not only met, but exceeded all expectations. The views over the fishing lakes were stunning, with wonderful pathways to exercise our family pet. A successful days fishing allowed my father to rekindle precious memories from his younger years. Celebrating three family birthdays here, staying in very well-presented and clean accommodation, with everything you could possibly need, has given my family many precious magical memories. Having recorded them on video has meant our family can revisit these moments again and again, and keep them for generations to come - irreplaceable! Thank you
