River Cottage began life as an agricultural building in 1872, before conversion into holiday accommodation. It sits on the River Steeping—locally called the Haven—within the grounds of a working farm, where guests can roam 80 acres of riverbank and tracks. The single bedroom sleeps four with a king bed and a sofa bed; there is one shower room. Everything is on the ground floor, with an open-plan living and dining space and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. A private hot tub overlooks the countryside.
The location brings quiet and space rather than seaside bustle. Wainfleet All Saints, a medieval market town with pubs, a brewery offering tours, and independent shops, is a short walk away. Skegness beach and its amusements are five miles off; National Trust properties at Gunby Hall and Tattersall Castle are within reasonable reach. The 80 acres invite wildlife watching and long walks. Fishing on the river is free. Essentials—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are included. One pet is welcome. No smoking. There is an unfenced river in the grounds, which matters if you have small children.

We stayed in Church View at Riverside Cottages and had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The accommodation was superb, the location was perfect and the hot tub was an excellent addition that made the trip even more relaxing. The tennis court was also brilliant for the kids and kept them entertained throughout our stay. A special thank you to Chris and the team, who were exemplary throughout our visit and couldn’t have been more helpful. Chris also went above and beyond by helping reunite us with a lost item after we had already left, which was hugely appreciated. A great visit all round — we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Best weekend at Church View. It was such a beautiful house, plenty of space for six of us. We came away for a girls weekend, a chance for us mums to step back from routine and reconnect with faith. All of the beds were comfortable and the house was spotless. Hot tub was a great size, well looked after and great to relax in. Plenty of beautiful walks nearby, and train station a short walk away. Chris was the most amazing host, making sure we were settled ok and saying hi when we saw him about. What a a lovely person on the site. We also found a great church nearby in Skegness, The Storehouse... check it out. Great cafe and staff with a Christian faith running this. It was full with a warm friendly feel about it. Simply perfect all round and we'd certainly go back. I would give 6* if I could.

Lovely cottage in great location for Skegness. Shop and takeaways nearby. Everything you need in this accommodation to feel like a home from home. The owner was really friendly and helpful and we all loved the hot tub

Just returned from a wonderful week in Haven View. The cottage is exceptional. Spacious, very well equipped and spotless. It is furnished to a high level but still feels very homely and relaxing. Location is great too and Wainfleet is an interesting, if quiet little town The hot tub was a welcome bonus after a hectic day with grandchildren (who loved the place too) Welcome from Becky was great and helpful and throughout our stay, Chris could have been more helpful. Anything that was not quite right was rectified almost immediately and nothing was too much trouble. Please be sure to let Chris know if something is not right as that's the only way it can be corrected and honestly, he appreciates any feedback as the aim is to give all guests a fantastic and relaxing stay. This certainly worked for us. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and would gladly go again Thanks to all
