The Sidings

East Lindsey

View on Google Maps

The Sidings stands on the grounds of a former railway yard, a spacious bungalow arranged entirely on one floor. It sleeps five across three bedrooms—a king with ensuite, a double, and a single—plus a family bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower. The living room opens onto a large patio through double doors, with a woodburner for cooler months and a piano for anyone wanting to play. The kitchen is well equipped for proper cooking, with both an electric oven and hob, American fridge freezer, and dishwasher. There's also a conservatory and a separate utility room with washing machine. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included.

Outside, an enclosed garden with patio and seating area runs behind the property, along with a barbecue and parking for three cars. The village is quiet but within reach of a good deal: Alford, three miles away, has a 17th-century manor house, a 14th-century church and a five-sailed windmill, plus a market twice weekly. Ten minutes in the other direction brings you to Gunby Hall, a National Trust property with grounds to explore. The coastal resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea lie within 30 minutes, as does Louth, a Georgian market town that doubles as a gateway to the Lincolnshire Wolds. Walking and cycling routes start from the door. Smoking is not permitted.
