The East Riding of Yorkshire sits at the edge of the Wolds, a landscape of rolling chalk hills laced with footpaths and bridleways. The Dairy occupies one half of a converted farm building on the Drewton Estate, a private 1200-acre property where the countryside is genuinely quiet. The cottage dates from the 1800s but has been fitted out for modern living, with original beams and brickwork left visible alongside electric heating and a fully equipped kitchen.
Two bedrooms sleep four: a kingsize and a pair of singles. The single bathroom has a bath with shower over, and there's a separate toilet. Downstairs is open-plan living and dining with a wood-burner, Freeview television and Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Ground-floor ramped access makes the property accessible for wheelchair users. One dog is welcome. You get parking for two cars and use of an enclosed patio with seating; there's also a welcome pack on arrival.
The estate sits within easy reach of the Yorkshire Wolds for serious walking, the North York Moors beyond, and the east coast. Red Kites hunt overhead and the North Cave Wetlands are in the neighbouring village. It suits people wanting a quiet base for countryside exploration rather than a central location near shops and restaurants.
