Thorpe Hall Cottages - The Garden Cottage
East Riding of Yorkshire
View on Google MapsDriffield sits at the heart of the East Riding, within reach of the Yorkshire coast and surrounded by countryside that rewards walking and cycling. The Garden Cottage occupies its own corner of the Thorpe Hall grounds, a detached property built around 1790 that started life as an apple store for the estate orchards. It has been restored to retain period character—the dining room features limed oak furniture and original details—while meeting the needs of modern guests.
Inside are five bedrooms and five bathrooms, sleeping ten. The ground floor holds a large living room with woodburner, a separate sitting room, dining room and full kitchen with dishwasher and range cooker. Bedrooms vary in size and bed configuration; several upstairs rooms have zip-and-link beds that can be split into singles. One ground-floor bedroom comes with an accessible wet room and emergency alert system, and wheelchair access runs throughout the ground floor. Outside, a spacious enclosed garden with patio and furniture faces onto the lawns. A hot tub is available by prior arrangement, and there is private parking for five cars, bike storage and stabling if needed. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, as are logs for the fire. One dog stays free. The property does not allow smoking, and electric vehicle charging is not available here.

We had two nights with our campervan here, very friendly staff and helpful. Our pitch was in the paddock which is very quiet and peaceful and a good size with ehu and aerial connection if you require it.Site and amenities are very clean and tidy.It is ideal for walking with open country and wooded walks too.And don't miss a walk to the church for a look at the monolith. All in all a very relaxed stay

A perfectly located, quiet, quaint spot with the perfect mix of character and charm. Everything was clean and tidy, a good mix of families and couples and it’s all down to Kim and Neil. They were amazing when our touring caravan was playing up and we were in a flap. 100% be back again, already looking at booking for later in the year.
