Angel Lane

East Suffolk

View on Google Maps

Woodbridge sits on the River Deben in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by independent shops, restaurants and the kind of independent markets that draw people back year after year. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is within reach for beach days or longer walks, and Aldeburgh and Southwold—both proper seaside towns with things to do beyond the seafront—are close enough for a day trip. Sutton Hoo, one of Britain's most significant archaeological sites, is nearby too.

Angel Lane is a Grade II listed building from the 1700s, originally built for river workers. It has two bedrooms (a super-king and a single), one bathroom, and sleeps three. Downstairs there's a living and dining room with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen with a full range of appliances including a dishwasher and tumble dryer, and a conservatory. Upstairs, the bedrooms are reached by the kind of narrow, steep staircases you'd expect in a cottage of this age. An enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue overlooks the street; parking is about 200 yards away on road.

The essentials are covered—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—along with initial logs for the stove and a welcome pack. The property is not suitable for children under six, and the garden has steps from the back gate. No smoking inside.
