Perfect campsite for exploring local area. Clean facilities. Family shower room. Small play area and woods for the kids to enjoy safely. Fridge/freezer for campers. Firepits with plenty of wood for £10. Enough for two nights.

A really nice campsite if you're planning to visit Sutton Hoo — the National Trust site is just a short walk from the entrance. The campsite has showers and toilets, and each spacious pitch comes with EHU, a water tap and drainage, which shows the owners have clearly thought about what makes things easier for guests. There’s loads to see nearby too, including Rendlesham Forest, Ramsholt, Bawdsey (where you’ll find the radar museum), Orford and Woodbridge. That said, if you're depending on public transport, it’s worth knowing the area isn’t especially well connected. We caught the (late!) 11.23am bus into Woodbridge, only to find getting back was a bit of a headache, with no handy return bus until after 6.10pm — unless it’s school holidays, when there’s a 3.10pm service. Stuck in town in pretty miserable weather, we looked into getting a taxi, but nothing was available before 5pm because of school runs. So, we ended up heading to the train station, catching a train to Melton, crossing the river bridge and following the tarmac path back towards Sutton Hoo. Luckily, it all worked out in the end. Just something to keep in mind: getting back to the site might not be quite as easy as you expect.

Easy to find, well laid out with spacious pitches separated by hedges. Water and EHU on every pitch. Clean facilities with very hot water, even for the washing up! Push-button showers with hot water. We’ll be back!

We took our motorhome, had EHU, water, showers and little okd but perfectly clean. They also had a separate disabled shower with a bath. All in all. Very nice
