Northgate Bakery Annex occupies what was once a shop and bakery attached to a 16th-century house in Beccles's conservation area. The property is yours alone: a self-contained ground floor living space with kitchen, separate toilet, and a first floor bedroom and bathroom reached by a steep, narrow staircase. Original features—Elizabethan beams, an inglenook fireplace and Victorian tiles—remain from centuries of use; the bedroom has a half-tester double bed under exposed timbers. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are included, along with access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. One car can park on site, and there's a shared courtyard with covered seating.
The town centre sits uphill: supermarkets, shops, a Friday street market, bus and railway stations, and pubs including the Oak Fired at the Royal Oak within a mile. Down towards the river are the quay, fishing, boat hire and walking routes. The Waveney forms the Norfolk-Suffolk border here, and the Broads are close by for day trips. Norwich's cathedral, castle and restaurants are within driving distance, as are Southwold's pier and beach huts on the Heritage Coast, and the bird reserves at RSPB Minsmere. Smoking is not permitted inside.
