The Half House

The Half House is a detached ground-floor studio in the village of Iken, built with the character of an older property. Everything unfolds on one level: a living room with a wood burner and smart TV opens onto a kitchen/dining space with electric cooking, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a bathroom with bath and shower. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are included, along with initial fuel for the burner. A patio and shared garden with furniture sit to the rear, and there is parking for one car on site. No smoking indoors.

Iken itself sits on the River Alde estuary with views back towards Snape Maltings; the riverside walk is known for birds, other wildlife, and the occasional seal. The coast lies four miles away, with Aldeburgh and Thorpeness within reach. Snape Maltings offers restaurants, a programme of concerts and events, and nearby pubs include The Plough and Sail and the Golden Key.
