About The Pier Hotel
Sea views over the pier are the main draw at The Pier Hotel, set on Grand Parade in Eastbourne with the seafront and town centre both close at hand. It's a straightforward, well-placed base for exploring the coast, and one that regularly gets picked out for offering solid value alongside its position.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in room, and family rooms for those travelling with children. There's a lift for easier access, and a restaurant and bar on site along with outdoor seating where you can make the most of the view. Breakfast is served daily, kids' meals are available, and free WiFi runs throughout. Meeting rooms and concierge services are also on hand for those who need them. That said, some rooms can feel a little tired, and service standards have been known to vary, so it's worth going in with reasonable expectations rather than treating it as a luxury stay.
Outside the hotel, Eastbourne offers walking and cycling routes, golf and fishing nearby, and watersports along the coast, plus a choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Staff are generally noted for being friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for the rougher edges. It's a fair pick for anyone wanting to be near the pier without paying over the odds.

Having spent a long weekend at the pier hotel...my mother and I had one of the family rooms which was clean and fresh...the bathroom was OK functional and clean but could do with updating.... We stayed here the same time last year ...no changes ..but found the hotel busier last year...we didn't have 1 other single quest on our floor all weekend so very quiet...the staff are great any problems and they put them selves out to help...we have never had problems with the beds or bedding we've found them very comfortable and clean..a fantastic location and great parking pass prices....look forward to returning.....thank you pier hotel Deborah king

Very dated hotel. It's a warren of narrow stairs and corridors. Rooms are basic but ok. The whole place needs updating and refurbishing. Staff very pleasant. Location fantastic. Parking horrendous especially at night.

Worst ever experience. Stating from the staff and finishing with the condition of the room and also a poor breakfast. I don’t recommend you that hotel! I’ve paid a £75 for a Deluxe room, and it was worst than I’ve ever seen in my life. Toilet door was broken and you can’t close it, the floor was sliding from one side to another so the bed as well(mattress). Didn’t had any toiletries (toothpaste and toothbrush, nor shampoo) I’m not saying already about dressing gowns and stuff what you should normally have. The drawer was absolutely empty. The kettle was dirty like anything, it was no water in a bottles at least. And in the end IT WAS BLOODY COLD IN THE ROOM SPECIALLY AT NIGHT. When we found the card in the table with the number of staff of the hotel and ask them to give us a spare blanket he ask my husband: - Where from you get my number? WhaaAT? We was shocked when we heard that. Is that how you speaking to your guests? Was he at home and we called him at home? Well, don’t want to continue, just want to warn you DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IS MUCH MORE WORST THAN ON THE PICTURE😢😭

DO NOT BOOK: BED BUGS I have genuinely never written a bad review about anywhere but this was one of the worst customer services I’ve ever dealt with. Bed bug issue. See photos. Initial check in was fine, receptionist seemed polite. However, we found bed bugs and so couldn’t stay and had to find another hotel at 11pm at night. ( we were 3 females on our own) I messaged the hotel on booking.com he apologised and said he would refund me. I didn’t hear anything the next day and when I rang him he tried to say I’d probably only get 70% back. I told him this was unacceptable. I spoke to the manager of the hotel on the phone, he was incredibly rude saying “ record me I don’t care.” I’d never even mentioned anything about recording the phonecall so I can only assume he is so defensive due to other complaints they have received. He told me I lied and fabricated that all three rooms had bed bugs. At no point did I tell anyone all three rooms had bed bugs. The argument was complete waste of everyone’s time, due to the fact he thought that because the bed bugs were in 1/3 rooms we should still want to stay in the others. My husband ended up speaking to him because of how rude he was. I then got offered 100 pound compensation not 134 pound which was the full refund. When I tried to ring again to ask for a full refund he had blocked my number. I rang him off my husbands phone to ask why he blocked me and he didn’t answer, told me he was on holiday then cut off the phone and blocked my husbands phone. I spent half an hour on the phone to booking.com who said they would “negotiate” with the hotel but could not assure me that I will get a refund. I then wasted another 20 mins on the phone getting through a manager at booking.com who finally agreed a full refund. This is honestly a money making scheme, they have no interest in customer service and if you have a complaint it will cause you a significant amount of stress to get it sorted. I have since complained to trading standards and intend to take it further because I don’t want this happening to anyone else.

Guests consistently praise this hotel for its great value, fantastic location with lovely pier views, and friendly, obliging staff.
Other reviews mention the rooms can be neglected and the staff can be unprofessional.
