I recently visited Burnt Oak Leisure Centre and had a very positive experience, particularly with the duty manager Andreas. When we arrived, Andreas took the time to clearly explain the facility rules, including the 4 players per court policy, which is in place for health and safety reasons. While this meant we had to reorganise our group, Andreas was patient, fair, and professional in his explanation. He wasn't being difficult – he was simply doing his job to ensure everyone's safety. As a Level 2 Badminton Coach with over 10 years of coaching and leadership experience, I can appreciate the importance of proper court management and safety protocols. The 4-person limit is a standard practice at many facilities and exists for legitimate reasons including safe playing space, injury prevention, and insurance compliance. Andreas was absolutely right to enforce this consistently. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, and once we understood and followed the rules, we had a long, safe, and enjoyable session. I appreciate Andreas's attention to detail and his commitment to applying the rules consistently. It's refreshing to see staff who take safety seriously rather than just letting things slide. Some centres may have different policies, but the 4-person limit makes sense for safety and court space. I'd rather have clear, fairly-applied rules than chaos. Highly recommend this centre, and kudos to Andreas for his professionalism! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Popped into Burnt Oak Leisure Centre for an entirely unrelated matter… but ended up witnessing something unexpectedly wholesome! A community sports session in full swing, complete with free tea, coffee, and biscuits for just £2 a head. Yes, you read that right. Sport, caffeine, and custard creams, the holy trinity of community bonding. 😄 It’s clear that the leadership and staff here are not just ticking boxes, they’re building something meaningful. Hats off to the team for championing initiatives that bring people together in such a warm and inclusive way. I’ve even attached a few pics to prove it wasn’t just a biscuit-induced hallucination..… and yes, even gluten-free options! Now that’s what I call inclusive hospitality. (And no, I didn’t have a biscuit... I’m saving that rite of passage for my golden years. 😂) Keep it up, Burnt Oak! More of this, please. BadmintonExcel

Lovely service, and good food and drinks. We were too full for desserts, but they had some very tempting options, including various ice creams

The leisure centre recently introduced a new policy for badminton courts, charging an additional £3 per hour for every player beyond the first four. This feels like an outrageous surcharge; since we have already paid to rent the court, having extra players rotate in doesn't increase overhead or impact other customers. It’s a disappointing move that seems more like a 'cash grab' than a necessary operational fee.
