What visitors say
Stunning little campsite, tucked away from the road. The showers, loos annd washing up aread are spotless, the atmosphere relaxed, the shop well stocked. It has a lovely easy going vibe, led by Jess the owner who was very obliging and helpful. You can hear the railway line a field or so away, but apart from that it’s a peaceful wee haven with plenty to do in the area. Almost everyone had a campfire of an evening. Just lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at Swattesfield Campsite. The team were incredibly friendly and accommodating — we asked at the last minute to extend our stay by an extra day, and Jess arranged it for us straight away. The campsite is set in a beautiful natural environment and offers all the facilities you could need while still feeling like you’re truly camping in the wild, surrounded by woodland. There’s a lovely walk to Thornham Walks, where you’ll find a great playground and café. Back at the campsite, the woods provide plenty of entertainment for children, including a tyre swing, a slide, and a fallen tree that our children spent hours climbing. There’s also a pond for pond dipping, lots of open space for endless bike rides, and plenty of room for children to explore safely within sight of their parents. Fire pits are allowed, which adds to the authentic camping experience. Overall, it’s a fantastic family-friendly campsite, and we would happily return.

I stayed in my van here for three nights and it was perfect. I wanted a space to relax, have a fire, go for walks, and feel at peace. Swattesfield campsite did not disappoint. I was greeted with a nice warm welcome, a welcome suggestion on where to park the van for the setting sun, and the two bags of logs I had requested. The facilities are very clean and the shower was hot. Thornham Walks are accessible through a gate on site, there is also a nice circular walk down to Wickham Skeith and back. I will 100% be back again for more. Highly recommended.

Such a pleasure to stay at a campsite that reminded us what campsites should be like. It had everything AND we could buy ice creams! Our stay was over a hot bank holiday and walking thru the acres of deciduous woodland to find a beautiful old pub was an ideal day. It was recommended to us and we've already recommended it to others.
