Mid Suffolk's quiet countryside between Mellis and Thornham offers serious walking territory. Cowpasture Lane, an ancient drovers' path that once connected medieval livestock markets, starts at the property gate—head left towards Mellis village or right into woodland with 12 miles of trails, a walled garden selling seasonal produce, and sightings of roe deer, red kites and woodpeckers. Local pubs dot the villages nearby; Thornham has a restaurant and a cricket club tucked into the trees, plus a Norman church with a rare 14th-century painted retable.
Maple Barn is a converted barn on a single-track lane, with open fields and woodland in view. Inside, everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with smart TV and bluetooth speaker opens through bi-folding doors onto the garden; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine; a bedroom with a king-size sleigh bed and a shower room with heated towel rail complete the layout. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and wifi are covered. The large enclosed garden has a sitting area, furniture and barbecue. Private parking fits two cars, and one dog stays free.
