Pleasant stay for a short business trip. I spent three nights here and found the staff consistently friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a typical English style with limited choice, but the quality is decent. We had dinner once at the hotel restaurant — the food was excellent, and the selection of drinks and beers was very good. My room (No. 8) was a bit dated but clean and perfectly fine for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough, though nothing special. The hotel is located directly on a busy road, so you can hear traffic from early morning — something to keep in mind when booking. Overall, a good option for two to three nights; for a longer stay, I would likely choose a different hotel.

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff, especially Tilly, who welcomed my husband so kindly after a very stressful journey! The cold beer and meal were most welcome. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie that the chef makes himself. The room was very clean and comfortable and an excellent choice for breakfast. Definitely 5 stars well deserved!

We stopped off on our way to Lowestoft and we're so glad we chose this place. The surrounding area is incredibly picturesque, the restaurant is beautifully decorated to the style of the building with a fresh, modern twist. Our son was fascinated by the penny farthing and singer sewing machine. The food was on the pricier scale but delivered to our table quickly and tasted amazing. The child's cheeseburger was very big and fresh and tasty with lots of lovely proper cheese. The chips were home made we think. The baguettes were delicious. Staff were friendly and well presented and knowledgeable. The toilets were fresh and clean. We would definitely recommend this place and might look at staying in one of the shepherds huts as a treat.

Excellent stay late January. Could not face driving home late after work in the dark, only to return next morning. Staff friendly and welcoming, food tasty, comfortable bar area for drinks afterwards. Room very spacious for one. Enjoyable fried veggie breakfast in the morning, now booked for July.
