Linlithgow and its surrounding countryside sit within easy reach of Edinburgh, making this part of Falkirk a practical base for exploring both town and region. Speed The Plough stands on a working farm, its three bedrooms and three ensuite bathrooms arranged across two floors to accommodate up to six people. Two kingsize beds and one twin pair give flexibility for families or friends; the ground-floor kingsize means no stairs needed for all guests. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial logs for the wood burner.
The open-plan ground floor centres on a living area with the wood burner, French doors opening to the garden, and a dining table that seats six. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine mean you can prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a full meal. A utility room with washer-dryer handles laundry. Underfloor heating keeps things comfortable throughout.
One dog stays free, though it must remain on a lead given the farm setting and sheep in the area. Stabling for horses is available on request. The property has car parking on site, an electric car charging point, and a bike store. No smoking inside. Families travelling with young children will find a travel cot, highchair and stairgate provided.

The Old Mill - We recently stayed at Paddockhall as a family of four, along with our dog, and absolutely loved it. The amenities were excellent, the surrounding walks are stunning, and it’s perfectly located next to Champany and Mannerstons. The house itself is cosy, comfortable, and just perfect, we’ve honestly never stayed in such a well thought out dog-friendly lodge before. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked to come back again in a few weeks! Thank you for hosting us!

We had a wonderful stay at Paddockhall Cottages (Speed The Plough). The property is excellently run — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the countryside. Everything we needed was provided. Our kids especially loved visiting the horses in the stables and feeding them apples and carrots — a real highlight of the stay! Five minutes from the quaint town of Linlithgow. Spacious, high quality accommodation. The cottage was beautiful and so well maintained. You have great road and rail connections on hand, but amazing countryside views. Highly recommend.

Simply WOW. Everything you need is provided and so much more. We stayed in Petronella for 7 nights and it was more than home from home, spotlessly clean, comfortable and beautiful views. Such a warm welcome with complimentary wine and biscuits on arrival. Paddockhall Farm is in an excellent spot for travel for day's out. We had an amazing time here and will definitely be returning ASAP. Thankyou to Wesley, family and team for such a wonderful stay.
