About Jacobs Ladder Inn

Just six rooms make up Jacobs Ladder Inn, a small pub hotel in Falmouth's Chapel Terrace, and that compact size is part of the appeal, keeping things personal rather than corporate. The rooms are en-suite, kept clean and comfortable, and a handful look out towards the sea, giving guests a proper Cornish view to wake up to.

Downstairs, the bar carries a solid range of real ales and lagers, and the kitchen sends out generous, tasty plates, with kids' meals available for younger guests. Breakfast is included, and other conveniences run to free WiFi, drinks in the room, and a laundry service, all set within a relaxed, welcoming pub atmosphere that staff help maintain. Pets are welcome too, which suits guests travelling with dogs along the coast.

Falmouth itself offers walking and cycling routes, watersports, fishing, and golf nearby, along with other pubs, bars, and restaurants within easy reach for evenings out. Note that there's no parking at the property, so those arriving by car should plan accordingly.

Decided to give the B&B a whirl after a couple of fun visits to the pub during previous Falmouth trips to visit family there. Clean and comfortable rooms, near to everything in town, and friendly staff. I thought it was good value and didn’t mind having a separate bathroom in the hall as it was clean and private to just our room. Great full English breakfast the next day too, which was included for no additional charge. I would definitely stay there again.

Came for a Sunday lunch, my first time trying this place. The food was pretty tasty with great portion sizes, and a pretty good drinks/cocktail menu. The only thing really lacking was the service; we found ourselves waiting quite a while to order (being the only ones in the restaurant too). We were also not offered any drink refills or sauces when our food came out, so we had to go to the bar ourselves to request them. I'm not entirely sure if it's a table service venue, as it wasn't very clear, or a self service thing, but a combination of the two didn't seem to work. It got to the point where we ended up deciding not to get desserts because nobody came around to offer after a good 15-20 mins. The chef also bought out our food while wearing their chef whites, which I thought was unusual, but maybe normal for this place?? Not sure. Overall it was pretty decent but unfortunately won't be rushing back.

Walked up Jacob's Ladder after seeing a sign at the bottom advertising the pub at the top. Pub has a good selection of real ales. But being a larger drinker. It wasn't worth the climb for me. Pub has a nice relaxed atmosphere to it and staff were friendly. The 3 star rating is really down to me being a larger drinker and after climbing the steps, (which are steep) not having a drink I enjoy.

What a lovely place to stay, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the place was rocking when we got there. I stayed in room 4 and it was stunning with a huge comfortable bed and great views out to sea. The room has a number of facilities and a welcome pack of biscuits, coffee machine, Cornish mineral water. The bathroom has a really deep bath that fills up quickly. It is spacious and a vintage style. The next morning the breakfast was lovely and really hot - great start to the day with proper bacon and sausage and vegetarian option too but hot and cold drink offered. The location is perfect with a short walk down to the main strip x Would definitely stay again
