About Chainlocker
Falmouth's working harbour, with its fishing boats and quayside bustle, is the setting for Chainlocker, a pub-hotel right on Quay Street. It's the kind of place where the bar downstairs and the restaurant upstairs both look out over the water, giving guests a proper view of the harbour while they eat.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, sea views, and drinks available in-room, with room service and 24-hour reception covering the practical side of things. Breakfast is served on site, and kids' meals are available for families. Downstairs, the pub has built a name for its food, particularly the fish and chips and seafood, backed by a solid range of local ales and ciders, and there's often live music adding to the informal, sociable feel. A garden and outdoor seating give extra space to sit out when the weather allows.
Falmouth itself offers plenty to fill the days around mealtimes, with watersports, fishing, cycling and walking routes all nearby, plus a golf course and a good spread of other pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Chainlocker works well as a base for exploring the town on foot, quay to quay.

What guests say
Last night of our 3 nights holiday in Falmouth. Great location and view from the restaurant upstairs. Attentive and friendly waiting staff. Menu just right for us. Meals served promptly - delicious. Ladies toilets clean and nicely decorated. Convenient Parking at Customs House Quay (tariff confusing though).

Accommodation review. There is a 10 min parking restriction when arriving under threat of a parking fine. Not clear from the road where to enter with bags to the reception. Entered pub only to be met by staff member who talked at us about parking fine etc. All that was needed was safe bag storage and car to be moved to a nearby car park. More time wasting as reception was on 1st floor via a small lift. Bags left, not before getting a pen to record car No. More delay. The location of our room was on 2nd floor which was difficult to reach on narrow stairs when controlling a dog. The room was clean and comfortable with a modern ensuite. Nice selection of breakfasts, which were very enjoyable. We had a separate room for breakfast as we were told we couldn't use the restaurant for 'hygiene' reasons. I found that strange as there was no concern for 'hygiene' when serving meals in the bar that contained dogs. Bar meals Menu not a great selection, mainly with chips. Warm up food not freshly cooked food as you'd expect.

The Chain Locker in Falmouth is a great little harbour-front pub with loads of character. The views are spot on—perfect for sitting outside with a pint and watching the boats go by. Rooms are fantastic Food is solid pub grub done well, especially the fish and chips and seafood options. Good choice of local ales and ciders too. It can get busy, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Overall, it’s not fancy, but it’s got a proper Cornish vibe and is well worth a visit.

Had a lovely meal here here whilst holidaying in Falmouth. Didn't stay in a room. Menu is much better than we expected. Had the special cod dish and sea bream. Delicious fresh, healthy ingredients. Chef obviously cares. (Monday 4th May) Views are incredible from upstairs restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient. Charlie, Barnet. Ethan and Dylan were great. Would recommend if you're fed up of usual pub menus
