About Kentmere Guest House

Folkestone's Leas promenade and coastal attractions are within walking distance of Kentmere Guest House, making it a handy base for exploring the town's clifftop paths and seafront without needing to move the car. Cheriton Road puts guests close enough to wander into the centre while staying somewhere quieter.

The guest house has seven rooms and keeps things simple but well looked after, with breakfast included to set guests up for the day and free WiFi throughout. There's a garden to sit in when the weather allows, and reception is staffed around the clock, so arrival times aren't a worry.

Free on-site parking is a genuine plus for anyone driving down to the Kent coast, removing the usual hassle of finding a space near the seafront. It's a straightforward, well-rated place to stay for those wanting easy access to Folkestone's promenade and coastal walks.

Excellent value, lovely breakfast and very friendly service. We were on a hiking trip along the Kent coast and needed to stay near the train station. The Kentmere Guest House was just the ticket.

Friendly and helpful owner (?) who was quick to reply to emails. Small but adequate single rooms (she even swapped my colleague to a lower floor on seeing his difficulty with stairs). Super-convenient location, both for the Tunnel terminal and restaurants/bars in town. If you're booked on a stupidly early train, or staying in Folkestone I highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed midweek for 2 nights. The host is a lovely lady who was looking out for us prior to arrival as we were somewhat lost. She was very obliging when we needed to add a booking at short notice and requested a larger room for this and also when we needed a taxi. Got a good night's sleep both nights as the road was quiet. Location is great, only about 5 minutes walk to the centre. Lovely and very satisfying full English breakfast with tea and toast. The guest house itself is very comfortable (I would suggest replacing the hard dining chairs in the rooms with more comfortable chairs, especially for elderly guests).

Received a warm welcome. Rooms are well kept and clean. It's close to the railway station, only a 7-8 minutes walk from the station. So location is very convenient. My son stayed there on a business trip.
