Campground in Folkestone with showers, a cafe serving breakfast and cakes, and Channel views.
About Little Switzerland
Little Switzerland sits on Wear Bay Road in Folkestone, a campground with showers and an on-site cafe. The setting is genuinely distinctive: the site looks out over panoramic views of the coast and the English Channel, with the East Cliff and Warren Nature Reserve just a couple of minutes' walk away. History buffs will find a Martello Tower and battery observation point within easy reach of the pitches.
The cafe is a real draw. Visitors come for breakfast, sandwiches and cakes, and it pulls in enough passing trade that it becomes a focal point of a stay here. Facilities are clean and well-kept. Prices are reasonable, and the staff are generally friendly, though some visitors have found the management less accommodating than they would like.
This works well for couples and families after a seaside base without paying premium rates. It is equally suited to touring caravanners who want a proper cafe on-site and don't mind that the appeal is the views and the location rather than bells and whistles.

What visitors say
This is a small but well kept campsite. Ideal for a visit to the town (takes around 30 mins to walk) and great if your using chunnel. The cafe when open has a great panoramic view of the coast. Toilet block has some steep steps so not suitable for those with mobility concerns.

Little Switzerland was a great find whilst cycling the Cantii Way loop and we have now stayed there two years running. Although the site is mostly static caravans, there is also a really good grassy camping area set in a natural bowl surrounded by trees and bushes. There are plenty of flat pitches suitable for smaller and medium sized hiking tents and it worked perfectly for an overnight stop on the route. Both times we visited they accepted walk-in bookings without any trouble, which was very welcome after a long day in the saddle. The shower and toilet block is up a fairly steep set of concrete steps which can feel quite punishing on tired legs after cycling all day, but the facilities themselves were clean and the showers were properly hot. The biggest advantage of this campsite is the location. It sits almost perfectly at the halfway point of the Cantii Way and has fantastic views across the surrounding area. There is also a really good café on site which serves seasonally, and the full English absolutely hit the spot the following morning. We noticed quite a few other hikers and cyclists staying there as well. The camping area can feel slightly enclosed because of the shape of the landscape, but overall we were really pleased to have found it. Prices were very reasonable, we slept really well, and we would happily stay again.

Didn't camp as local but use the wonderful cafe regularly. Lovely home made food, cakes and drinks. Lovely helpful staff. Fantastic views across the sea and coast in well maintained clifftop garden

I am writing to share some feedback following our recent visit to your site. Prior to arriving, we enquired about making a booking and were advised to come to the site. However, upon arrival, we were informed that we could not be accommodated, despite there being visible space available. We were travelling in a touring motorhome, so we relied on the information provided, and the situation caused us significant inconvenience. Additionally, the interaction at reception felt unfriendly and unhelpful, which added to our disappointment. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter, as clearer communication and a more welcoming approach would greatly improve the experience for future visitors. A brief explanation of what happened would also be helpful. Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Antony
