About voco The Clifton Folkestone
voco The Clifton Folkestone suits travellers who want a proper seaside stay without sacrificing modern comforts, as well as those passing through en route to the Channel Tunnel. Set on The Leas Promenade, it works equally well for a weekend by the coast or a convenient overnight stop before crossing to France.
The hotel has 78 rooms across five floors, including family rooms and accessible rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi throughout, and some rooms enjoy sea views along with extras like Nespresso machines. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a generous buffet alongside à la carte choices, and the restaurant and bar cover meals through the day, with kids' meals, packed lunches and room service also available. A garden and outdoor seating add to the appeal in fine weather, and facilities extend to meeting rooms, a bridal suite for weddings, and concierge and laundry services for longer stays.
Staff are consistently noted as helpful and welcoming, which smooths the experience whether you're settling in for several nights or just passing through. Folkestone Harbour Arm and the town centre are both within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers walking routes, nearby pubs and restaurants, golf, fishing and horse riding. Pets are welcome, though parking is chargeable and located nearby rather than on site.

I have never received such a bad experience with the parking at any hotels. At check-in, the staff told me that there would be an 8.5 GBP charge if we paid in the parking lot. I agreed and entered my plate number in the check-in form. But after several days, I received a Penalty Charge Notice from the Folkstone and Hythe Council! I contacted the hotel, and the hotel took it for granted and told me that it was our fault since we never told them that we wanted to park, really? And only show their generous by providing us a goodwill discount next time we stay with them. I replied, but no further communication anymore. By the way, I am a platinum member, never received any welcoming gift at all. They just want to earn money, never take the guests as their top priority, there are many other decent hotels around that area. I will never stay with them anymore.

Stayed at Voco Clifton Hotel on many occasions, loved it for the Mother’s Day weekend when we also booked are Daughter and partner in for the celebration, also back to the hotel for the St Patrick’s week, weekend in Folkestone, the hotel is 5 stars and all what you would expect with all the usual utilities & factuality’s spotlessly clean, bedding comforting high powered walk in shower with marble surroundings, room spacious and bathroom. Only one point that comes to mind, but is not an issue if you’re not interested in watching the tv in the morning or evening, is that the tvs are mounted at the side of the bed in some rooms, Costa coffee downstairs and also a bonus Marco Pierre White Bar & Grill Restaurant a Must. Bar lounge lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, pianist on Sunday in the reception lounges, reception team friendly and attentive. Always a pleasure visit, and booked back in for Christmas or before ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cecilia & David

We had a fantastic stay at The Clifton Folkestone. We were really impressed from start to finish. The ambience of the hotel is beautiful - it feels high-end, luxurious and welcoming. We booked a King Premium room which was smaller than we expected but spotless and beautifully furnished. It was great to have a Nespresso machine and large rainfall shower. We even had a side sea view. The breakfast was excellent - the dining room is beautiful and the service was impeccable. There is a generous buffet with hot food, delicious pastries and fruit and yoghurts. You can also order other dishes like eggs benedict or American pancakes if you prefer. There is a good bar and Costa coffee on site which were perfect for grabbing a quick snack and drink before getting ready to go out for the evening. We didn’t try the Marco Pierre White restaurant. The location is brilliant - right on the seafront, opposite the Lea Cliff Hall and the scenic Zig Zag Path. You can be swimming on the beach in less than five minutes. We walked the 15-minute journey to and from the harbour and town centre throughout our weekend stay and felt it was a manageable journey. The service was excellent throughout our weekend. Thank you for a great stay!
