Hewelsfield Court - The Old Granary

The Forest of Dean's working farms and open countryside form the backdrop to this converted granary, a substantial holiday home designed for families or groups of six. The building retains original stonework around its entrance, a reminder of its agricultural past, while the interior has been thoroughly renovated across three storeys to create practical living space.

Three double bedrooms occupy the ground floor, all naturally lit and aired. The first floor opens into a single large living and dining area with a wood-burning stove and French doors onto a patio; the kitchen sits within the same space and has a full range of appliances including a dishwasher and combi oven. Upstairs, the second floor is given over to a dedicated playroom with a PlayStation 2, bean bags and games—a genuine separation from adult space. Two bathrooms serve the property. Parking for two cars sits on-site, and the grounds include a one-acre natural space (shared with other properties) where one dog can stay free, though it must be kept on a lead in this sheep country.
