Level pitches at the foot of Ben Nevis, two miles from Fort William

About Glen Nevis Caravan and Camping Park

Tucked into level meadows beneath the west flank of Ben Nevis, this family-run park has been welcoming campers for generations and remains one of the finest bases for exploring the western Highlands. The site spreads across well-drained fields divided by mature trees, which help it feel less crowded despite the scale. Pitching options range from grass tent pitches—with or without electric—to fully serviced hardstanding for larger outfits, plus insulated pods for those wanting a bed off the ground. Facilities are excellent: heated shower blocks, a campers' kitchen, laundry, wifi and a shop stocked with groceries and camping essentials.

The real draw is what lies beyond the gate. The Ben Nevis Mountain Track starts just minutes away, and the walk up Glen Nevis to Steall Falls and the wire bridge ranks among Scotland's most spectacular short routes. Fort William, the Jacobite steam train and Glencoe are all close by. Expect to pay around £31 a night for two on a standard pitch. The park opens mid-March to early November and fills completely in high summer, so book well ahead.

I spent 2 nights under canvas here during a hiking trip in June 26. The site was pretty busy but it was peaceful and quiet on both nights. The facilities were handily located throughout the site and were clean, spacious with plenty of hot water. Free WiFi on site with good coverage in all areas.\\n\\nThe reception staff were helpful on arrival, the shop was well stocked with everything including main meals, ice creams and sweets, map, camping equipment, souvenirs and every midge repellent under the sun.\\n\\nThe onsite food wagon was excellent, I had chips one night, reasonably priced, staff were friendly and a nice seating area to enjoy it all.\\n\\nAll in all a lovely site, perfectly located for Ben Nevis.

Stayed here on 2 occasions, one night in a fully serviced pitch and the other on the Cameron pitch.\\n\\nThe Cameron pitch is only marginally more expensive than the normal serviced pitch and absolutely worth it. The toilet and shower facilities are great and are to a much higher standard than the usual toilet and shower block, and the pitch itself has amazing views and looks so well kept.\\n\\nWould absolutely return without hesitation if in the area.\\n\\nDidn’t have any need to speak with any staff when we were there and particularly liked the automatic pitch assignment when you book so you know exactly where to go.

We booked a 1 night stay here in our motorhome for a 10 night trip around Scotland. The facilities on site here were the best we had all holiday! A beautiful site, great location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains including Ben Nevis. Pitches are a great size, had electric hook up and water at our pitch. Even though the site is big it felt very peaceful and very well kept.

Fine place to pitch a tent, great view at the mountains. Ground is soft when whet, otherwise good. Facilities are older but well maintained and cleaned. The staff is nice, and the shop has everything you could think off, aswell as being surprisingly affordable.
