About Babington House
Babington House is the rural outpost of the Soho House group, occupying a Grade II listed Georgian manor a few miles outside Frome, set within eighteen acres of parkland, walled garden and working farm. Bedrooms are spread across the main house, a converted coach house, stable block and separate cabins, each decorated in an understated country style rather than conventional hotel furnishing.
The Soho Health Club includes an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, spa treatment rooms and a Pilates studio, alongside newer contrast-therapy cabins in the grounds. Food is served across several settings on site, from the main restaurant to a more casual walled garden cafe, built around seasonal produce from the surrounding Somerset countryside.
Although operated as a private members' house, day guests and hotel bookings are accommodated, and the property remains one of the best-known country retreats within easy reach of Bath, Longleat and Frome itself, making it a popular choice for a weekend away built around the spa and grounds rather than the town.

Overall, we had a lovely stay, the setting is beautiful and relaxing with good food and the stable block rooms are great and super well thought out. Euan from the front desk was super helpful and welcoming throughout our stay and was by far the most helpful staff member there and extremely accommodating. The breakfast service was quite slow which was disappointing and the lady on reception when we arrived was not so welcoming but other than that we had a good stay and would recommend.

We had such a lovely, spontaneous stay here. It’s a beautiful place and very peaceful. I’d especially like to highlight Isaac at reception, he welcomed us on arrival and saw us off when we left, and he was responsible for at least 50% of our wonderful experience at Babington House. We will definitely be back!!

Situation idyllic and staff friendly and obliging but require more intensified training in order to serve in an upper class establishment like this.Nick (one of the head waiters) was brilliant however lady behind the bar told me to look in the restaurant when I asked for sweeteners.They weren’t there either.And how does a top class hotel run out of honey? Our room on the top floor was lovely with superb views but required pitons to reach it. Banquet food superb,breakfast not so much….how do you leave scrambled eggs out for 20 mins and expect them to stay warm?

Beautiful setting, superb room with bathroom with all the usual Soho House touches. Enjoyed some fabulous spa treatments, however the pool and gym are overcrowded a lot, to the point where I couldn’t use the gym or swim as it was so busy. Apart from that was an enjoyable short break in the stunning Somerset countryside.
