I love this site, Been 5-6 times now, pitch 14 is favourite. Well run and set out. Compost toilets, fire wood available and seasonal veg. A short walk into Frome if you want to dine out. Wheelbarrow provided to take your tent etc yo your pitch. ⛺ 👍👍

We liked the wild camp aspect of the site, the pitches are spread out and they are on the wild side with a good amount of privacy. But, the pitch we selected was very rough, the ground was very uneven so we changed pitches. Since our stay Cordelia has let us know she has spread wood chip to level the pitch for other guests. The facilities are basic with no hot water, composting toilets etc. We initially thought the £10 climate charge was a bit excessive as we weren’t sure what this was actually going towards. Cordelia has provided us with some useful information ‘I've committed on the website to using 30% of it to pay any fines or costs we incur for actions fighting climate change (but not the time we put into it), we have actually spent much more than 30% of it on this. This year it will be closer to 100% if not more. Specifically on costs, donations and fines associated with actions with Extinction Rebellion, Insulate Britain and Just Stop Oil. There's also a cost to leaving a lot of our site to natural growth, which sequesters carbon and facilitates biodiversity rather than squeezing more tent pitches in or cultivating it. I believe that using some of the climate change charge to make it cheaper for people who aren't driving is climate related. But if I just charged more without calling it a Climate Change Charge and telling people what it's used for then I'd miss out on probably the biggest climate impact, which is stimulating thought and discussion about it - it can be easy to jump in the car without thinking about the impact and I aim to just remind people that each of us (I include myself in this) contribute to climate change every time we choose to own a car drive somewhere.’ We choose to update our review as Cordelia provided us with a lot of additional information.

Such a glorious weekend. Beautiful surroundings, lovely walking and some amazing bird encounters including a barn owl hunting in the field next door. Basic but wonderful - exactly what we needed. Will definitely be back.
