Swans Rest - Quail Cottage

Photo: Swans Rest Holiday Cottages

A single-storey cottage built around ground-floor living, Quail Cottage sits within a small development centred on a natural pond. The sunroom is the standout feature—a light-filled space that overlooks the private garden and the water beyond, with direct access to a patio where you can settle with morning coffee or an evening drink. The building itself is surprisingly generous; two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles) and two bathrooms mean there's space and privacy for couples, families or friends travelling together. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking from scratch, with a cooker, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher and separate appliances for laundry. Essentials like heating, electricity, linen and towels are included.

The cottage is between Singleton village and Poulton-le-Fylde town, putting you within reach of both countryside quiet and coastal activity. Blackpool is fifteen minutes away; Cleveleys beach is a short drive. One dog is welcome to stay free, and there's a dedicated dog exercise area within the development, though the garden itself is unfenced and adjoins the pond. Parking for two cars is on site. The property does not allow smoking. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.

We stayed in Swallow Cottage for 3 nights and I can thoroughly recommend it. It is spacious, very comfortable and clean, and well equipped. Irene, the owner, is very helpful and considerate of individual needs. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Fylde Coast, and perfect for anyone who needs ground floor accommodation. Car parking space is close to the property which is great for loading and unloading. The grounds are extensive and well maintained. We will hopefully stay again.

We have stayed at Swans Rest many times over the years in several of the properties situated in such a beautiful environment. Every visit has been great and thoroughly enjoyed by myself and my life-love Susie, the owner is welcoming and has ensured excellent accommodation with homely touches. We hope to visit again …

Returned to Swans Rest again after such a great time in June but chose to stay in a cottage this time. Irene and her staff go over and above to make sure that you have everything you need in the accommodation for your stay. We have never stayed anywhere that is so well equipped. Lovely spacious cottage, nice having a separate shower and bathroom rather than having one ensuite. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms and lovely comfy beds. Great wi fi and freeview tv, still able to watch Netflix etc. Right next door to the orchard and a lovely space to sit out. Loved the little aviary. Lots of places to go, and near to Blackpool but without the hustle and bustle. Nice places to eat nearby, loved the Koi Pool and Burnside Garden Centre literally minutes away. If you don't want to cook there are lots of places to order in via the apps, can recommend Seniors fish and chips (they have their own online ordering). The supermarkets also deliver so you can order all your groceries while you are there. We can highly recommend staying at Swans Rest and we will definitely be booking again next year.
