About Babbity Bowsters

Babbity Bowsters suits anyone who'd rather stay above a good pub than in an anonymous city-centre block, whether that's a couple down for the weekend, a solo business traveller, or friends meeting up for live music and decent beer. The address on Blackfriars Street puts you right in Glasgow's Merchant City, within easy reach of the area's restaurants, bars and everyday sights.

Rooms are en-suite, comfortable and kept spotless, with free WiFi and drinks available in room, so it works equally well for an overnight business stop or a longer leisure break. Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a city-centre location, and staff offer concierge help, luggage storage and a laundry service for anyone travelling further afield.

Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are as much a reason to book as the rooms, serving dishes like steak pie, Cullen skink and vegetarian haggis alongside a solid range of beers, in a lived-in, sociable setting that often has live music on. Breakfast is included, kids' meals are available, and the surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists as well as those after a night out.

We had an excellent meal at the very comfortable and inviting pub. The room is cosy and warm and the welcome genuine! We both had excellent meals with Elizabeth having the teriyaki salmon, whilst I had the fish and chips. Both meals were excellent. A lovely evening out in a genuinely wonderful local pub. One we would definitely return. Thank you to all the staff who made our evening g so enjoyable

The perfect spot for an overnight stay in Glasgow. Clean, comfortable room, surprisingly quiet despite being above a pub. A short walk from the train and bus stations. Friendly staff, excellent food and ales.

Delicious Haggis, lovely waiters, hilarious menu and just a really nice vibe at this very Scottish restaurant. I was there on a Saturday evening hoping for live music, but they told me the live music local dancing is on Sunday evenings. I'd definitely come back again next time I'm in Glasgow!

Stayed here over a Friday night. The room was comfortable, recently refurbished and surprisingly quiet, and the food and drink in the pub were very pleasant. But the highlight was the delightfully friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
