Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for relaxing away from the room, plus luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures.
The hotel is generally kept clean and staff are usually helpful, though service and room upkeep can be inconsistent, so it suits guests with modest expectations rather than those wanting a polished experience. Beyond the hotel, there are pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries nearby, along with entertainment options, making it a practical spot to base yourself for exploring Glasgow.

Our party stayed in two rooms on Saturday March 28th 2026. I am taking into account the price paid was only £93 in total. check in is advertised as after 14.30 and we arrived at 17.00 with no problem finding a parking space and helpful staff on hand. the rooms are warm and clean. there was a kettle with supplies for several cups of tea or coffee No decaffeinated option. Bathroom had pleasant orange scented handwash liquid provided and smallish shower had shower gel provided. Bed was comfortable with good quality sheets .Bed was situated under the window so as near freezing outside there was cold draught and light pollution initially. Easily solved by weighing down the curtain bottoms on the wide windowsill. Steep narrow stairs to upper floor rooms. Noise transmission was a little excessive ,conversations in adjoining rooms audible. Wi-fi worked well. Wall mounted TV provided. Check out 10 am with £10 an hour charge if later. No breakfast provided [website out of date]

+ A great location if you plan on doing the Queens Park Parkrun. A 5 minute walk to the start. The price was fair. The staff member at check in was really friendly. - The soundproofing is terrible. You can hear conversations (or worse) from adjoining rooms. Also to ruin your sleep, there is a bright green safety light that can't be turned off? The check-in times are a bit cheeky, charging extra if you arrive after 9.30pm. The room was grubby. Stains on walls etc. It's in need of a proper clean.

Avoid this place! The owner can only be described as an Indian/Asian Basil Fawlty! He was rude and uncooperative and doesn't deserve to be in business. Let's start with the positives. The room was a decent size. That's it. There is no more to say about this place or the owner which is positive! I was in Glasgow for work and the people I was working for booked the hotel well after I had set off on my 6 hour trip to Scotland. It was around 10.20pm by the time I finished work. The hotel was around 20 minutes drive from where I had been working and I arrived near to it at approx 10.45pm. The street was fairly dark as the street lights are in the tree canopy. I parked and set off on foot to look for the hotel as I couldn't see the numbers on any of the houses. I eventually found the hotel. The name and house number are on a wooden fence next to some gates but this is set well back from the road and with it being so gloomy it is impossible to see it in the available light. I pulled into the carpark and went to reception and rang the bell. The owner eventually opened the door and let me in. It was very difficult to hear anything he said as he spoke very quietly and mumbled into his chest. He kept asking for photo id. I didn't have anything with me and I've never been asked before for it while travelling in the UK. He said it states in the booking form that I need photo id. I pointed out that the booking had been made several hours after I had left home and it had been made by my employer. After careful inspection of the booking email it does not ask for photo id anywhere on that document. So we had a standoff off for 15 minutes as he kept insisting on me showing him something I hadn't got on me. I called the person who had made the booking to tell them there was a problem. He rang the hotel and spoke to the owner. He then called me to say he would send a copy of my pay slip to me and the owner would accept this. Why, it doesn't have my photo on it! Then after that was sorted, the owner wanted to charge an extra £10 for a late check in fee. Reception closes at 9.30pm apparently and the fact I was working until almost an hour after this didn't make any difference, he wanted more money. So, I offered him a £10 note but insisted on a receipt as I would need to claim this money back from my employer. He refused a receipt. The only way I could get one was to pay by card. I can only imagine the owner is either too lazy, or too stupid, or both, to do a hand written receipt! He l gave me my room key and told me I had to go out of the reception down the stairs, walk to the end of the building and up some stairs and go through that entrance. The place is a rabbit Warren and I was looking to find the stairs to my room. Imagine my surprise when at the end of a corridor I saw the owner who appeared to be still in reception! He could have waved me through the door to his right and I would have been where I was standing now! Eventually I found the room. After a long day I went to bed without looking closely at the room. The next morning I had a look around and other than the room being a decent size I can't find anything else to compliment it. The door into the room seemed a lose fit so had put the chain on it and a chair up against it just as a precaution. The room wasn't grubby but it could definitely be better. The furniture was sparce, old and all dark wood and is showing signs of having seen better days. The towel shelf in the bathroom was holding onto the wall by chance. The tilled shelf in the bathroom which stopped at the wash basin had a sharp edge and the grouting was dirty and grubby looking. The upholstery on the armchair in the room looks way better in the video than it actually is. The wooden banister towards the bottom of the stairs is not secure and looks like it will break off easily if you should put any weight on it. I was not aware of any signs in the corridors to show the way to the nearest exit. I could have missed them but I certainly didn't notice them. These are needed in case of a fire to guide you out.

I still can't quite believe how disgusting the service is here, on my first day here at around 8 in the morning, I had one of the staff tell me that I couldn't come until 2:30 so I had to wander around like some stupid clown for about 6 hours, as if that's not bad enough when I eventually was allowed to come back, (a lady who I think was one of the staff) tried to pull the office door shut in my face, I thought I'd let that go then the very next day just when I thought I could settle here until 2:30 (which would make sense as that would have made a 24 hour stay) but nope, one of the staff rocks up to my door demanding that I should have left at about 10:00 (which I don't remember the lady at the desk ever informing me) I was then rushed to pack my stuff with not even the slightest apology as I left, there is no sympathy at all here, I would not recommend this place to anybody, these people are so cold and they have no respect or hospitality, even a hostel would make a better stopover than this place!
