About Sandyford Hotel

Sauchiehall Street runs right past the door of the Sandyford Hotel, putting guests within reach of the Scottish Event Campus and the wider mix of bars, pubs and restaurants that line this part of Glasgow. It's a practical base for anyone visiting the exhibition centre or exploring the city on foot, with free on-site parking a useful bonus for those arriving by car.

The hotel has 55 rooms and keeps things simple: free WiFi throughout, a laundry service, and a restaurant serving breakfast each morning, which is generally considered good value. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for rooms that can be tired in places. There's no lift, so guests with heavy luggage or mobility concerns should bear that in mind when booking.

Beyond the hotel, Sauchiehall Street and the surrounding area offer plenty of options for eating and evening entertainment, all within easy walking distance. It suits travellers who want a central, no-frills stay near Glasgow's main event venues.

Very clean, but beds quite hard, and hotel not great if you have mobility issues as no lift and ALOT of stairs. Staff very helpful Breakfast a bit overcooked. Orange Juice jug lid cracked so spilled all over counter and my clothes. No Lorne sausage! Otherwise a very pleasant stay in a very convenient location close to the Arena district (we came to see Def Leppard) and close to, but not right in the city centre which was ideal.

Great experience stopping here for the night on the way up to Mull. Location is perfect - 2 minute walk from Argyll Street with its bars and restaurants. The front desk staff were exceptional and very much made the stay for me. Room in the loft was sweet with a good view!

The receptionist laughed as he gave us the keys for the last room in the hotel. He explained they were busy as there was concerts on in Glasgow. We were appalled that they would give out such a room without warning or a discount. We paid the same price as others in the hotel but the carpet was not fitted, it had holes in it, was wrinkled up and had a sticky stain in it. We couldn't leave the window open cause it would leak if it rained (and we would get charged for the damage to the disgusting carpet) so the room was really hot. The toilet kept running, the shower pulsed water onto you rather than a constant flow of water. You could not be a large person in that room as you would not get past the sink to the toilet or get covered by their small bath towel. Everything in the room was damaged or needed cleaned and the electrical equipment PAT tests were what I consider out of date, the 1970's hairdryer should be checked every year. There was decorating and materials left in the corridors so I am assuming they are renovating but to knowingly give a sub-standard room to your paying guests is not the service I would expect. They did offer us free breakfast when we asked for another room but to be honest if that is what they think is acceptable for a hotel bedroom I would not like to see the standards they have for their kitchen.

The room was okay - pretty much what I expected when booking. It was fairly clean, but a bit worn with creaky and slanting floors. A bit of charm. The bathroom was small, but fairly recently modernized. You can hear people easily in the hallway or outside, but we were not bothered by noise except for a bit of car noise from the street. The location was excellent for the concert we were attending at the OVO Hydro.
