A small pub-hotel in a period Glastonbury building with just six en-suite rooms, a garden and a bar serving good-value food.

About The Market House

The Market House occupies a characterful building on Magdelene Street, right in the centre of Glastonbury, with the kind of scale that suits a proper pub-hotel rather than a large chain stay. There are only six rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, so the place feels intimate rather than corporate, and guests get free WiFi, drinks available in the room, and luggage storage if they arrive before check-in or want to explore after checking out.

Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the heart of the place, with breakfast included and a menu that stretches to vegetarian options alongside the usual pub fare. The food is generally well regarded and reasonably priced, served in a clean, friendly setting, though it's worth knowing that quality can vary a little from visit to visit and portions aren't always generous. There's a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days, plus business services for anyone mixing work with a stay in Somerset.

Glastonbury itself is on the doorstep, with other pubs, restaurants and eateries within easy reach, entertainment nearby, and fishing available for those who want to get outdoors. It's a straightforward, well-placed base for exploring the town without needing to travel far for a meal or a drink.

Beautiful location with a slight view of part of the Abbey which was pretty. Service was amazing. The lady who served us (said her name was Lucy ) was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. Food was served in good time and the portions were just right. The burgers we had were lush . The place was clean and tidy . Ladies toilets were well kept and clean and overall this place is a win . It was good value for the fact that you are in Glastonbury. We will definitely eat here again .

✨ Wow. The Market House, what a lovely Team you have Employed. All extremely hardworking and very polite and courteous. A great venue for Sports, people watching, a great menu with a wide choice of Good Pub Food. I’ve casually socialised a few times, and I have always been greeted with a warm welcome. Lovely location opposite the Abbey, with a Beer Garden. Lovely sun trap 😍✨.
