Tent, caravan and motorhome campsite in Derbyshire with direct access to Pennine Way walks.

About Crowden Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Crowden Camping and Caravanning Club Site sits on the edge of the Peak District, with direct access to the Pennine Way and other walking trails. The setting is the main draw here: surrounded by moorland and fell landscape, this is a base for serious walkers as much as casual campers. The site is near Glossop.

Pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes come with electric hook-ups. Glamping pods are available for those who want something between canvas and a cottage. Shower blocks are heated and kept clean, with washing facilities on site. Staff are noted for being genuinely helpful with local advice.

The atmosphere is quiet and the views across the surrounding hills are substantial. This works well for walkers, fell runners, and anyone seeking straightforward, well-run camping in upland countryside rather than a resort-style experience.

Nice quiet campsite for both tents and motor homes. Not too big. Several good walks accessible as well as Pennine Way. Very helpful staff. Good location. Only 4 miles to town thank goodness as I (dog) set fire to my camping mat and was able to replace!!!

Great campsite right on the Pennine way. Very warm welcome, a basics shop with all the essentials… we appreciated the vegan ice cream! It’s a nice small size with clean facilities. Most importantly we could just walk up and get a pitch as hikers without a car. It cost £27.17 for one tent and two adults.

A wonderful place which provided us with much needed respite after a long rainy walk down the mountain. The glamping pods are spacious and warm and handy for all the campsite amenities. Tony in Reception is an absolute diamond too. Highly recommended.

On Saturday, 13 very wet and slightly hypothermic walkers arrived at the office asking for help - we needed to get to Glossop as we were exhausted. After arranging transport for us the kind gentleman opened up a pod for us so we could keep warm. We were so grateful- thank you - literally a life saver x
