What visitors say
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Petworth. The servants’ cottages were a particular highlight for me, offering a fascinating glimpse into the everyday lives of the people who worked there. Those more personal glimpses of history really bring a place to life. I also loved the garden—a beautiful setting to wander through, take my time and enjoy the surroundings. A lovely combination of history and outdoor space, and a National Trust property well worth visiting.

Gorgeous national trust park to walk around, well maintained, exhibits on regularly. Staff were very welcoming and particularly in the house, there were staff located in most rooms who were there to give background on the pieces or answer any questions you had about the works.

Great visit, managed to find a disabled bay and got a lift up to the house. Not overwhelmed by visitors, joined the 900years in 45mins tour around the house which was excellent. Very friendly guides, I particularly liked the placement of sofas so those with walking/standing difficulties could take refuge.
