This two-bedroom cottage across from Petworth House has retained character while offering modern comforts across three floors. The lower ground floor contains a spacious kitchen with breakfast area, dining space, shower room and utility facilities. Upstairs, a sitting room with open fireplace and a snug with entertainment options occupy the ground floor. Two bedrooms sit on the first floor—one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles—sharing a bathroom with both bath and shower. Essentials like bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are covered; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking from scratch.
An enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue sits outside, with private parking for one car on site. Dogs are welcome here at no extra cost. The cottage is positioned on a busier road but has double glazing throughout, with additional secondary glazing in the bedrooms. It occupies three distinct levels with uneven floors, which may present challenges for those with limited mobility. Walking distance to Petworth town centre is straightforward, and the surrounding area—including the Downs, Goodwood and the Sussex coast—makes it a solid base for exploring the region. Smoking is not permitted inside.

The best cottage we have ever stayed in, absolutely top quality. Everything we needed, with so many extra touches and so much thought put into the cottage to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We timed our stay with Petworth Christmas Cracker which was the best start to our Festive Celebrations. The welcome hamper for us and our Border Terrier was amazing and so thoughtful. Cobbler's Cottage also had a Christmas Welcome with decorations and a tree. We had the best night's sleeps and rest in such comfy beds. Simply, a home from home which was beyond what we could have asked for. Thank you so much.

This was our second visit to this lovely cottage and we were so glad we came again. Peter and Rose have created a beautiful relaxing cottage to spend time in, also providing a great base to explore all the surrounding areas. When you arrive at the cottage you are greeted with some lovely extras which is a great touch and well appreciated. We took our small cockapoo and she loved the deer park which is opposite, Petworth is a lovely small town with plenty of pubs and places to eat which are pet friendly. Superbly appointed cottage with every necessity...and whim anticipated. Owners Peter and Rose really do go that extra mile to ensure your stay is trouble-free. Great location with so much to see within a 30 mins drive, Petworth is a lovely town. Our favourite nearby pub was Badgers, really authentic, warm welcome and great food.

This weekend was very much needed for me and my partner to just relax. The cottage provided just that. The cosy aspects of every part of it; clean, comfy and welcoming with all the amenities needed. Walks in the Shimming Valley on the doorstep and tea rooms and antique shops to peruse. Can’t wait to go back for some quality time in what feels like a home away from home! Thank you so much!
