What guests say
We came this evening for dinner and the quiz and had a great time. Although the food took a little while to arrive, everything was clearly home made and my husband said his chicken burger was one of the best he's had locally. I had the lemon chicken pasta which was also lovely. Well presented and fresh, decent portions. Other members of our party had fish and chips and a selection of starters as a main - all looked excellent. We didn't have pudding but the ones that wer being taken to other tables looked great. Staff were lovely and clearly working hard. Quiz was very fun! We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, my charity bike ride didn’t quite go to plan, and ended up busting my bike, and I ended up stranded in the heat. I stopped by this pub to get out of the sun while waiting to be picked up, and the manager could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They kindly helped store my bike safely in the back of the pub and made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. Acts of kindness like that genuinely go a long way. Thank you for your service, hospitality, and generosity. Although I’m not a local lad from around here, I will personally support this pub whenever I can in the future.

Visited for the first time as a group of 5. Greeting was cheerful. A good selection of drinks on offer including Neckoil. Understand the pub has recently been taken over by the new owners. Menu was fairly basic as they get set up but was excellent. We all ordered different pies and a lasagne and they were all delicious. Puddings were also very tasty and a great size portion. Excellent value for money. The gentleman who greeted and served us was a great character. We will be back.

Called on short notice of needing food for 13 people after a christening on a Sunday after seeing that this place had recently re opened. They were very accommodating and it was no trouble for them to help me. We sorted the food order and deposited paid…. On the day we arrived 40 minutes early and was able to be seated with drinks ordered. They managed to get all the food sorted and plated for us all at the same time regardless of our early arrival and everything was hot and delicious!! Amazing politeness from all staff and I Thankyou for help in making the end of our special day also a tasty one. Will definitely be returning and will be recommending you to friends and family.
